Analemmatic Sundial made in 2003 for a park in Leicester. If the user stands on the correct date engraved on the central 'calendar line' their shadow will be cast on an ellipse of stainless steel hour markers to tell the time. Unusually it was decided to show the hours of darkness (star shaped) as well as the sunlit hours (sun shaped). Each daylight hour marker has a different wildlife creature deeply etched for 'brass rubbing'. The nightime hours have owls and bats etc." ![]()
