A small model for a proposed large multi-dial of unusual design for a park in Leicester.  The finished version was to be made from two 8ft x 4ft stainless steel plates 1" thick.
The surrounding 'Halo' was to have the numerals pierced through a band of 1/2" stainless steel
The time is indicated at the junction between the two plates.  Because the 'halo' is rotateable, adjustments can be made for longitude and the difference between Clock Time and Solar Time.    The lower graduations form a 'cross dial' where the edges of the plates act as shadow casters.  This feature was included after discussions by email with Anne Bruvold of the Norwegian Sundial Society.  For good measure there is also a conventional Horizontal Dial on the base.
This project came to nothing in the end.....one day perhaps.
