Making a new gnomon for the antique Irish dial by Yeates of Dublin inspired me to attempt something more traditional and I quickly discovered that roman numerals set in a circular dial are a real challenge! Easy to do but difficult to do well! We have much to learn from the practitioners of yesteryear and I really enjoyed following in the footsteps of a fine craftsman.
