One of a batch of three Meantime Dials

Two were made for UK clients and one for myself. This remarkable dial was designed by the American Richard Schmoyer in the 1950s and converts solar time to clock time by rotating the curved slot to displace the band of sunlight passing through by the correct amount for the time of year. This example is now on permanent display in the sundial section of the 'Time Gallery' in the London Science Museum in South Kensington.
